Summary, etc. This book was first published in 1984 as the first volume of the Legal and Constitutional History of India, covering ancient Indian legal, judicial and constitutional system namely 'Vyavahara Dharma and Raja Dharma' which subject constituted part of Legal History which is one of the compulsory subjects for the Law degree course prescribed by the Bar Council of India. The book had been subsidized by the Government of India through the National Book Trust, India for the benefit of the students. Its second printing was in 1990. This was also subsidized by the National Book Trust. Now this is its third printing. As the topic of this book is not only part of Legal History, which is a compulsory subject for the Law degree course, but it is also useful to the subject of Indology, Sociology and Political Science.
