520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The Evidence Act 1872 is considered to be one of the best pieces of legislation. It has remained relevant over a century, and few changes that have been brought about are the results of the development of technology or gender-sensitive issues. With the advent of a new statute relating to evidence, namely Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, the evidence law has remained majorly unchanged as most of the principles have been retained. Also, as most of the principles relating to the appreciation of evidence and mode of proof remain same, the law remains largely unaffected due to the new statute, except for changes in the chronology of sections. As old law will remain relevant with regard to cases registered before the enforcement of new laws, the second edition of A Working Digest on Law of Evidence, contains references to both laws wherever necessary.(Source: https://www.ebcwebstore.com/product/a-working-digest-on-law-of-evidence-bharat-p-maheshwari-2nd-edition?products_id=99108060&srsltid=AfmBOopjqJDvLB6wiSYVAky2lsddMbK28f7sstYw3r1ZgcNLt_I_gP3s) |
