Summary: This is the 16th edition of the book titled "Indian Contract Act", authored by Dr. R.K. Bangia. The 15th edition of the book, published in 2017, exhausted long back. It indicate that the book has got acceptance from its readers. Since the publication of the last edition, many significant developments have taken place in the field of contractual transactions, particularly, when public authorities are one of the parties. The principles and practices relating to these matters, have been constantly attracting the attention of the Courts. Decisions on the subject have been pouring in continuously. In this edition, attempt is made to incorporate these judicial pronouncements at appropriate places. The present work incorporates all the relevant pronouncements of the Supreme Court and the High Courts reported upto January, 2023 and also added a new chapter on "E-Contracts". The basic format, structure and style of the book has been preserved. The matter in the book has been discussed, keeping in view, the requirements of the U.G.C. in respect of 3 year Law Course and 5 year B.A.-LL.B. Integrated Courses. Besides, it serves the needs of those who are preparing for various competitive examinations. Like its predecessors, this edition would receive wide appreciation by all those, into whose hands, it would fall, it is humbly hoped. I would, however, sincerely feel obliged to the readers of the book, for making suggestions on any aspect of the work. I thank warmly the publishers, who are ever helpful and efficient. ---Lawbookshop.net
